Admission rules

Fees-Structure will be displayed in the Notice Board before Admission.
After the publication of the result of H.S. Examination Forms for admission to B.A. 1st year class are distributed
as per instruction given by the university and Higher Education Council.
Candidates who have passed H. S. Examination or its equivalent Examination-can apply for admission.
The duration of distribution Forms and submitting the same properly filled in to the college office shall be displayed in the Notice Board.
No Forms shall be distributed or collected in any way after the scheduled period of time is over.
Those who intend to get themselves admitted to Honours course will have to secure marks both
in aggregate and in the subject seeking Honours as per University rule as already stated.
All candidates will have to apply in separate prescribed from for admission to B.A. 1st Year General and Honours course
with separate set of documents, separate sets of Undertaking for Curbing the Menace of Ragging.
Candidates have to fill up separate forms for Honours and General course and he / she has to submit
separate sets of requisite documents for separate forms.
All admission are made on the basis of merit on consideration of the result of H.S. Examination.
Two separate lists of the names of candidates shall be made for admission to Honours and General course
in order of marks obtainedby the candidates, and admission shall strictly follow the lists while counseling.
As per university rule candidates are entitled to get themselves admitted to B.A. 1st year class (Programme & Honours)
within three years of passing the H.S. equivalent Examinations.
The filled-in forms must be attested by him or herself.
Admits and mark sheets of madhyamik and H.S. Examinations in original must be produced at the time of taking admission.
SC, ST, OBC, BPL and physically Handicapped candidates must produce their conceded certificate in original.
Reservation of seats for admission as per university guideline for SC, ST, OBC and physically handicapped student :
SC - 22%, ST- 6%, O.B.C-A 10%, O.B.C-B 7%, PH-3%. One (1) seat is reserved for Sport Quota
as per University rule. Those who intend to take admission in Sport Quota shall have to fill up a Form available in the office of the College.
Those who have passed H.S. in pure science may also apply for Geography Honours securing marks in aggregate as per University rule.
Admission are considered valid for one year and are therefore, to be renewed for each subsequent year of study.
Admissions are liable to be cancelled without notification if any fraud is detected at anytime.
Admission on production of migration certificate may be made subject to the intake capacity only.
Undertaking on the part of student and his / her guardian must be given on curbing the menace of ragging as per Supreme Court order through U.G.C.
The declaration regarding 'Ragging' given at the end of the 'Form' should be filled in properly and signed by the
student and guardian and must be submitted along with the application form, otherwise his / her candidature will be cancelled without further notice.

History of the college

Muzaffar Ahmed Mahavidyalaya, a co-educational institution established in 1986 (5th August, 1986) is situated at Bharatpur-II Panchayat Samity at Salar at a stone-throw distance from Salar Railway Station in the district of Murshidabad amid scenic beauties and open atmosphere. There is, in front of the college, a pond full of water surrounded by green mango trees under the shade of which permanent sitting arrangements are there for the students to pass their light moments. The surrounding areas of Salar as a whole really deserves admiration for long past for its cultural heritage, com­munal harmony, academic and social uplifting aspirations. Since the very inception of the college, it has been providing higher education to the stu­dents, especially to those belonging to middle and lower middle classes of its vast feeding areas, meeting their long-cherished demands for this education in promoting all-round academic upliftment and social mobility, strengthening harmony among different communities living peacefully side by side like the members of a family. It is very much apprising and inspiring to note on the part of the college that the students most of whom belong to lower economic strata of the society are obedient disciplined and their academic response conforms to the aims and objectives of the college to the fullest satisfaction. The college is developing by leaps and sounds, some infrastructural deficiencies from which the col­lege was suffering has almost been mitigated for full fledged academic interest. The college is, however, often deprived of better students from the surround­ing feeder schools for which the result of university examinations are not always so brilliant at they should be. But taking into consideration of the inputs and outputs the students who are first generation learns be­longing to peas tray deserve excellence for their performances in university examinations. The college situated at a place inhabited mainly by minority communities is in successful response of the students and cordial co-operation of local people, firmly determined to introduce popular as well as new emerging sub­jects in Honours and General degree level having immense academic and technical importance in view of changing social and educational scenario. To equip the office with computer and the introduction of Multi-Gym, Honours in Geography and Arabic (General) are the outcomes of such earnest effective venture adopted by the college authority. The college is named after a universally respected great personality whose ideal of ‘plain’ living and high thinking' of life has been ever-lasting inspiration for discipline, punctuality, equality, fraternity, board mindedness, true educa­tion, honesty and perseverance for all people irrespective of caste and creed for all ages. We fell proud of this great personality Muzaffar Ahmed, and are determined to honour him through proper discharge of our respective allotted duties in a concerted way in imparting education to our students. The college, affiliated to Kalyani University has only one stream in arts having the subjects, English, Bengali, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Education, Geography, Sociology, Arabic and Sanskrit in General course, History, Bengali, Philosophy, English, Political Science and Geography in Honours course.
